Mike Hardin :: Fitness Director
ACSM certified, Mike holds an Associates Degree in Fitness from Ashmead College. Mike believes that body awareness and progression of exercise intensity are essential components of personalized program design. His innovative training techniques incorporate a sense of play ensuring a fun workout. Mike's personal athletic interests include participating in local sports events, Seattle Marathon, Seattle to Portland Cycle event, and various 5 and 10k's. Mike helps his clients achieve their specific training goals by teaching them the balance of work, rest, and play, in and outside of the gym.

Kathryn Jose :: ZUM Head Trainer
NASM certified ZUM personal trainer, Kathryn is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University with a degree in Exercise Science. In Kathryn's ten years as a competitive gymnast she developed a lifelong passion for health and fitness. Kathryn's unique training style combines a creative approach to movement and an intuitive understanding of her clients' needs. Kathryn encourages her clients to cultivate a balanced approach to life, believing physical activity to be a catalyst for both internal and external growth. The key is providing people with the tools to realize their personal potential.

Jarrad Matthews :: ZUM Trainer
NSCA certified ZUM personal trainer, Jarrad received his BS in Sports Management from Texas A&M University. Jarrad’s training style evolved from his discovery of functional training after suffering two serious back injuries. By building his core muscles, he was able to rehabilitate fully and continue playing sports, including pole vault and javelin. In 2004, Jarrad qualified for the Olympic Trials for javelin, and he continues to throw the javelin competitively. Jarrad enjoys creating unique training sessions that focus on core strength and efficient and fluid movements, and that emphasize body awareness and having fun.

Jon Yeager :: ZUM Trainer
NSCA certified ZUM personal trainer, Jon brings experience working with a diverse client base, ranging from children’s soccer teams to semi-pro athletes. Jon earned a BS in Health and Human Performance from Iowa State University, where he was a strength and conditioning coach for several Big 12 Conference varsity teams including wresting, golf, tennis, and basketball. As a coach, Jon designed unique, high-performance, functional training programs that aimed to keep training “fun”. He applies these principles to personal training, designing programs and creating unique challenges to push clients to achieve their personal best.

Lydia Melton :: ZUM Trainer
ACSM certified ZUM personal trainer, Lydia received her personal training degree from Lake Washington Tech. Her passion for surfing, soccer, snowboarding and physical activity led her to a career caring for the human body. Lydia previously worked as a massage therapist for 4 years providing Neuromuscular Therapy and injury treatment in Bellingham, WA. Her diverse background includes experience as a snowboard instructor and a rehabilitative therapist at a spinal cord injury clinic. Lydia will bring fun, awareness, and function to your workouts. She is an excellent coach with great encouragement skills who understands that reaching fitness goals strengthens your life, not just your body.

Maureen "Mo" Sullivan :: ZUM Trainer
ACSM certified, Mo received her BS in Exercise Physiology from Gonzaga University. A competitive swimmer, triathlete, and yoga instructor, Mo brings a passion for movement and the yogic philosophy to her work. She has the unique ability to help people find their own true direction in health, making movement and exercise fun as well as challenging. Mo enjoys working with people of all levels and backgrounds, from individuals new to a gym environment to endurance athletes. She stresses a strong center in both the body and mind which transfers outside the gym into a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Tony Moses :: ZUM Trainer NASM and APEX certified, Tony Moses holds a Masters in Education and a BS with a minor in coaching. Tony’s life has centered around sports and athletics since he started playing football in the third grade. He went on to play semi-professional football for the Minnesota Lumberjacks for two seasons, moonlighting as a trainer for several of his Lumberjack teammates, and spent several years coaching high school football and track. His training style encompasses strength, conditioning and balance techniques and movements. Tony draws inspiration from his clients, sharing in their accomplishments and motivating and encouraging them toward their goals. |

Kym Belden ::
Kym Belden, RTS, ACE, AIFE, her varied background includes dance, movement analysis, and cycling. Extensive experience in postural alignment, movement analysis, rehabilitative exercise, and proper biomechanical function, gives Kym the eye to see movement and create sound programs for your individual needs. Cycling is also a passion of Kym's. As a USA Cycling Coach, Expert level, Kym currently trains cycling teams around the area and has cycled competitively at Cat 3 level.

Derek Butler ::
Derek Butler, ACSM, has been a Personal Trainer since 1991. He calls the Washington, D.C. area home where he attended the University of D.C. on a Track and Field scholarship and achieved NCAA All-American status in the 100 meters and 400-meter relay. Derek's interests include travel, sports, and his pet Boxer, Payton. Although his training specialties are body shaping/building and athletic training, he's had extensive experience dealing with many types of clients with varying goals.

Bill Christiensen ::
CSCS certified personal trainer and athletic coach, Bill holds a BS in Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition from Western Washington University. While playing football at WWU Bill was named, Colligate First Team All-American, and Athlete of the Year. Bill played two years professionally in Europe, he was the franchises' first two-time MVP. Bill furthered his career working in Physical Therapy and focusing on post-rehabilitative and injury prevention exercise prescription at two PT clinics. Bill focuses on increasing performance of body mechanics and awareness.

Joe DeShaw ::
ACSM, NSCA - Joe holds a Bachelors of Arts in Exercise Science from Western Washington University. He was named one of the top five trainers in Seattle and one of the top 100 trainers in the United States (Men's Journal Dec. 2004). After graduating from college Joe spent three years as an exercise technician designing and administering therapeutic exercise programs for outpatient physical therapy clinics. A personal trainer since 1993, Joe has continually sought ways in which he can provide the best service possible. His holistic approach to long term health and wellness integrates exercise conditioning, nutritional consultation and application, and stress management. Joe's HardCore™ progressive performance conditioning class has become one of ZUM's signature offerings.

Scott Hughes ::
Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, ACSM certified with a BS in Health and Fitness. A competitive athlete and weight training enthusiast for over 34 years, Scott was the Lifetime Drug Free National Powerlifting Champion in 1992 and former national record holder in the squat lift. Recently Scott placed second in the 2003 North American Strongman Society National Championships. Scott enjoys the opportunity to share his lifetime passion of health, fitness and athletic performance by introducing people to the joy and benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
